Privacy Statement

Rainforest Rescue Ltd (ABN 61 086 885 154) collects personal information such as name, addresses past and present, contact details, payment method details, age range and personal interests. We collect this from donors, non-financial supporters, members and volunteers. We collect personal information so that we can provide receipts, respond to inquiries, provide further information about Rainforest Rescue’s activities and seek donations. You can have access to your personal information that Rainforest Rescue has collected.

In order for us to find new supporters, like-minded organisations may allow us to contact their mailing list. In return we allow these organisations to mail our supporters with information we believe may be of interest to you. If you would prefer not to receive such communications, please contact us on 1300 763 611.

Rainforest Rescue will disclose some personal information to organisations that provide services, as follows:

• name, address and telephone number, are given to organisations that provide automatic address and telephone-number updating;
• name, address, telephone number, and donation history, are given to organisations which provide demographic analysis of our donors and supporters;
• name and address are given to organisations which mail materials to our donors and supporters on our behalf; and
• name, address, telephone number, donation history, original donation source and narrative notes are given to organisations that contact our donors or supporters on our behalf by telephone.

For all the above, Rainforest Rescue only uses organisations that have a Privacy Policy, and who undertake not to disclose your personal information to others or use it for any other purpose.

Taxation laws require that you must provide your name and address to us if you wish to receive a receipt for your donation in order to obtain a tax deduction. However you are free to make an anonymous donation e.g. by money order, but you cannot claim a tax deduction. You are entitled to know how Rainforest Rescue obtained your name and address.

Privacy

When you visit this web site, we record anonymous information about your visit and log the following information for statistical purposes:

• your server (IP) address;
• your top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk, etc.);
• the date and time of your visit to the site;
• the pages accessed and documents downloaded;
• the previous site visited; and
• the type of browser used.

This information is not specific to an individual and is used for system-administration purposes, as well as statistical analysis. While anonymous information does not tell us anything about you specifically, it tells us about how you use our site.

Identifying users

Rainforest Rescue does not seek to identify users or their browsing activities. The exceptions to this are:

• In the case where users supply the required identifying information in the course of completing one of  Rainforest Rescue’s input forms; or in the unlikely event of an investigation where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect Rainforest Rescue’s logs.
• This site does not currently collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, date of birth or gender, unless you provide this information to us.  Rainforest Rescue will only record your email address if you send us a message. This information will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and will not be added to a mailing list. We will not use your email address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it without your consent.
